Recasting ticket data through a polarised lens

Reimplementation

This is the early stage sample for a project taking a classic government trivial digitisation digital paper (PDF) and turning it into a contemporary online form where only relevant questions are presented. In the same way as applying for an operators licence online versus the download, edit, print & post version. Here the team have a reference, with well worn paths to make improvements: in the flow for the user; the easy wins as directed by the service team; and apply lesiglative updates. Low rate of re-visits to the build stage as one would hope form taking an already working model and doing a little discovery and improvement.

Service extension

This is the first two-thirds of extending an existing service which was paused in September 2017. This involves UX & discovery for novel scenarios as the norm, unlike reworking known scenarios above. Note the relatively vertical nature of the re-builds -- indicating, perhaps, focussed refinement and iteration to complete the ticket. Zoomed to the same time scale as the reimplementtion graph shows a comparable, and roughly equal, approximation to vertical lines.

Replatforming project

This is a platform version upgrade (Java application and content management service) and the timeframe is comparable to the reimplementation work. Note how considerably different the shape is in terms of height (the number of visits to the build stage); width (time to iterate through the cycles); and the proportion of tickets that are not complete first time (a single dot on the y=0 line).
